My E-portfolio

a. Introduction   

    This E-portfolio serves as a documentation of my experience in the observation of the assigned class which is the Grade 9 students. As a group, we are given 7 meetings to observe the class and to also observe the teacher. We are given an evaluation card for each meeting for us to observe if it applies certain needs and reflection afterwards.

b. Information about me..

    Hi! I'm Cyrah, hoping and claiming to be a teacher someday. Since I've entered college I know for a fact that it will never gonna be that easy. This chosen path that I've chose is a big responsibility not just for my family but also in the community, in our in children in the future, our future learners and the people that is eager to learn. But what I've learn throughout my journey is that we all know sometimes in life we tend to take wrong path and sometimes just wanting to give up but after all those sh*ts it's okay, not to be okay take a rest, have a peace of mind but never give up on yours dreams. And I know one thing for sure that what makes a good teacher is being a good listener.

    I believe that teaching is not just a profession but it is a passion. It is a build up connection between the teacher and the learner. Being neutral and unbiased towards treating his/her learners. Adjusting and understanding their proficiencies and focusing more to learners who were slow learners. As much as possible encourage everyone to participate. I also believe that be real but not harsh, just like giving feedbacks and  errors because there are questions that are not self-reflected and questions that have a correct answer. If you can be nice to inform them and correct them in a polite way not harming any learners feeling and make them feel that it is okay if  their answers were wrong.

    The first day I attended the observation, it was just a casual class meet up and it was occur on Google Meet. The class instructor of Grade 9 provided the link for the Google Meet. As I enter the meet, the instructor was their along with few learners and my groupmates certain time was given for the other learners to enter. Before the class the instructor recalled us observers one by one by our names then afterwards class started. That they it was just a period to remind her learners for the activity she gave last meeting. She explained each part of the Activity, she read the instruction and explained it to them. The learners ask question and so the teachers answer. After the class we've(observers) been asked by the teacher to stay have a little chitchat for the observation. She asked us about what we observed in her class and that ended my first meeting in her class. On my second time meeting on her class. just like before, she gave to link for her class and attended her class on Google Meet. We waited again for her learners to join the class and also my fellow observers/group mates. The learners were kind of used to the setting were observers are there to join the class. The class started and the teacher presented the topic and the it started the discussion. There are learners who are participating and reciting and the teacher is entertaining all their answers but also she encourages everyone to answer by calling their names to answer if they wanted to and after almost an hour she dismisses the class.

    This situation right now and what is going on in the world because of the pandemic there is a big adjustment and difference. The world is in a chaos so does learning. Every student is in shock and have the difficulty in coping up in the learning system right now. But thanks for the hardworking and passionate teachers for serving learning and teaching knowledge even if through screen and modules.

    Teaching strategies and lectures is fairly serve throughout the semester online class was truly difficult especially to those students who doesn't have such materials for their needs. But for the dreams nothing is hard and every problem can be solve because we all know there is no problem that can't be solved. Just keep believing to yourself and have faith in God is enough to pass through this challenges in life. I know to myself that I didn't gave my best. I've wasted a lot and sadly almost gave up but when I was about a single string hanging I burst out, thinking I was alone to this fight but I was wrong. A realization hit my head that there are real people surrounding me that loves me and cares about me. That was the biggest relief that I have ever experienced, the feeling that someone truly cares about your feelings and your being, people that understand your pain, and I never care more for a person before and that is my mom, the most strong selfless mother I know. So I claim and positively claim to be a future teacher someday, in God's grace.
